Touring Requirements
Tour Requirements For 2008 Season.
Due to a change in the insurance program under which the BCC must
operate we are no longer able to use waivers to allow non-members to
ride with us on a temporary or trial basis. This change applies to all
OCA affiliated clubs and failure to comply could result in the BCC not
being able to obtain insurance in future seasons. For this reason the
tour leaders or captains have full authority to cancel any tour in the
unlikely event that a rider who does not fulfill the necessary
requirements insists in participating. Clearly, these changes have put
extra responsibilities on those who have volunteered to lead tours for
our benefit and the full cooperation of all participants is requested.
For all scheduled BCC tours the following will apply;
- Only paid-up members of the BCC or another OCA affiliated club may
participate in scheduled club tours. Each participant must carry their
club & OCA membership cards on every tour as proof of membership.
- Helmets are mandatory.
- Tour leaders or captains are to check that everyone is in compliance with points 1 & 2 above before the ride commences.
- If any participant is not in compliance yet insists on riding with us then the tour must be cancelled on the spot.
- If anyone joins in with a group whilst out on the road then again,
they must meet the requirements & the ride must be cancelled if
they do not comply yet insist on riding with the group.
- Out-of-province riders may participate in our scheduled tours by special permit, obtained through the club president in advance.
- Only scheduled tours are covered by the clubs insurance.
