Title: Winston Churchill Rd
Post by: Steve Maxwell on February 17, 2020, 10:59:28 AM
According to Ted, the construction on Winston Churchill south of Olde Base Line is finished. Road is open with brand new top coat. This opens up new routes for rides starting from Terra Cotta and Tuesday/Thursday evening rides starting from Strawberry Fields.

Tour leaders can start adding new routes to the library to utilize this route. I am predicting that the Tuesday evening rides will climb this hill at least 4 times this season.  :) Still time to work on those climbs on your virtual rides  ;)

Climbed it last week for the first time with the new surface on the flat straight. Tough climb. Goes on forever.
And, I was in the car!!

Once you crest the top of the esker just south of Bush Street, it's downhill all the way back to the parking lot at Terra Cotta - wheeee! Nice stretch of new pavement, including good shoulders.
