Hey Steve I have a Masi Grand Criterium 5 not really sure what size it is, looks like it may be a 54 or 56. It hasn't been used in a few years but may work for your friend.
most of the components are TruVative rear derailleur is 105.
it is a older bike so your friend would have some leftover cash to get it tuned and get pedals as it does not have any currently
