Old School Road will be closed from Winston Churchill to Heritage Rd and Mississauga Rd to Chinguacousy Rd from April 25-August 14 2018.

Old School road is now gravel west of Kennedy/Old School intersection.

Rode several sections of Old School Road this evening. Status as of 6pm May 7

West of Creditview, towards Mississauga Rd: original asphalt, construction cones at edge of road, evidence of pre-construction work in ditches on both sides of road

Between Creditview and Chinguacousy: original asphalt, construction cones at edge of road, no evidence of ongoing work at this time

Between McLaughlin and Kennedy (not part of construction notification from the region): hard packed gravel marginally improved over original horrible asphalt from just east of McLaughlin to just west of Kennedy, except for original asphalt about 150m surrounding Hwy 10 (both directions).

Update as of June 3rd

Winston Churchill to Heritage - 14/10 - beautiful new asphalt, lines painted, construction done
Heritage to Mississauga - 7/10 - no construction planned or visible; road is relatively good, with minimal potholes
Mississauga to Creditview - 6/10 - old asphalt, frequent potholes, gravel over drainage culverts - but progress is being made, the drainage ditches on both sides of the road are are finished and graded; the "shoulder" is graded flat - road appears ready for new asphalt soon.
Creditview to Chinguacousy - 5/10 - old asphalt, frequent potholes, gravel over drainage culverts, the drainage ditches on the eastbound side of the road are partially finished and graded; the "shoulder" is graded flat ready for new asphalt on portions of the eastbound side; westbound side work remains in progress
Chingaucousy to McLaughlin - 7/10 - no construction is planned or visible; road is relatively good with minimal potholes
McLaughlin to Hurontario - 11/10 - previously very rough, then gravel section is now freshly paved with smooth black asphalt. Would have given a higher rating, but no lines painted yet.
Hurontario to Kennedy - 11/10 - previously very rough, then gravel section is now freshly paved with smooth black asphalt. Would have given a higher rating, but no lines painted yet.

I would say that group rides could use all of Old School except the sections between Mississauga and Chinguacousy, which should be avoided due to ongoing construction and frequent potholes. Solo riding through that section is fine, pending ongoing construction.

Section between Creditview and Chinguacousy is now paved, however there are three unpaved sections each about one meter long.

Not sure if you knew that WC is unpassable (we had to walk our bikes down the hill
at 10 Side Rd to Guelph St.
