Title: Town of Caledon Road Maintenance
Post by: JasonGRoth on July 27, 2019, 05:40:25 PM
As many of us discovered on rides today, sections of Old School Road and Torbram have been turned back to gravel roads, temporarily.

I found this posted on the Caledon Road Maintenance website:

As part of ongoing maintenance, a number of roads are being temporarily turned back to gravel so that we can make improvements. We will top up low spots in the road, fix soft spots, fix drainage ditches and replace culverts. Once all maintenance is complete, roads will be turned back to the hard-top surface.

Maintenance will take place July 23 – August 23, weather pending.

Torbram Road - King Street to Mayfield Road
Willoughby Road - Highpoint Road to Townline
Old School Road - Airport Road to Bramalea Road
Saint Andrews Road - Olde Base Road to Escarpment Sideroad
Mount Pleasant - Castlederg Sideroad to Old Church Road
Mount Hope – Highway 9 to Doctor Reynard Road
All roads will remain open.

Those allergic to riding on gravel may choose to find an alternate.  ;)

As we discovered yesterday St. Andrews Rd north of Olde Base Line has temporarily been converted to a gravel road and is currently NOT ride-able on a road bike. I assumed it will be repaved later this summer.
